'No More Candy': Mikki Gillette and Asae Dean, together again
Briefly

Mikki's in this to make art, but there's also this service to actors to continue to develop acting talent. She puts out these parts that there are not a lot of other writers putting out there.
Over the past decade or so, Mikki Gillette has blazed her own path, creating a veritable canon of plays that explore the spectrum of what it means to exist as a trans person in the 21st century.
Gillette's new No More Candy marks the third full production the two prolific theatre artists have collaborated on, achieving a unique rapport of sociopolitical like-mindedness and artistic temperament.
Dean's Portland theater-making career has followed a similar trajectory to Gillette's, beginning in 2012 and culminating in the foundation of her production company, Salt and Sage.
