How do Ukrainians survive the traumatic guilt of war? For many, the answer is art | Charlotte Higgins
Briefly

In Ukraine, there is a maelstrom of guilt, each individual finding something to feel guilty about, whether it be leaving the country, feeling guilty for others, or not doing enough for the war effort.
Russia's war has not only snatched territories but has also infiltrated relationships, causing monstrous rifts between friends, lovers, and family members, making expressions of such emotional burdens challenging.
Art provides a means to express the unspoken during wartime. Artists like Dasha Chechushkova and Bohdan Bunchak use their art to portray feelings of guilt, alienation, anxiety, and fear generated by their war experiences.
