Before kids, I viewed light-up shoes and character clothing as tacky and cringeworthy. I thought I could easily avoid buying them for my daughter, but I was mistaken.
Seeing my daughter’s reaction to her new bathing suit was a revelation. She lit up with excitement, dancing and insisting to show it off to her friends.
I had envisioned dressing my daughter in classic styles like dresses with big bows, but now I gladly buy her character clothing, embracing the joy it brings her.
