Andie MacDowell, 66, reveals she suffers from surprising health condition: 'I was literally falling apart'
Briefly

In a recent interview on Drew Barrymore's talk show, actress Andie MacDowell opened up about her struggle with Piriformis Syndrome, a condition causing pain related to muscle spasms that compress the sciatic nerve. MacDowell revealed that the pain had become so severe she feared needing a hip replacement. She shared her commitment to daily exercises focusing on her hips and acknowledged that her previous Peloton workouts, done excessively, exacerbated her issues. Despite the challenges, she expressed her love for working out, highlighting an optimistic outlook on managing her health while aging gracefully.
I have piriformis syndrome. It's a muscle that's, kind of clamps down on my sciatic nerve and it was shooting down my leg. I thought I was gonna have to have hip replacement.
When I was working last season as I did the Peloton like a crazy person and it's not appropriate for my body, and I ended up with bad knees and a bad hip.
I like to eat, but I do love to work out. That is my great fortune because I have had friends that are frustrated because they don't enjoy it.
