Throughout a just 20 days, 28 buildings located throughout Slovenia, Austria, Switzerland, and Germany had to be photographed. The endeavor required sleeping in abandoned chapels and ascending glaciers at night.
"We would aim to be on top of the mountain for golden hour, when the light is very beautiful," he says. "Then we'd wait until pitch black at night, when the stars are visible."
