Ex-Sky guard Quigley makes retirement official
Briefly

Allie Quigley, the renowned WNBA sharpshooter and Chicago Sky champion, officially announced her retirement in The Players Tribune. A three-time All-Star and four-time 3-point shootout champion, she played for the Sky from 2013-2022. Although her retirement had been expected after a two-year hiatus since her last game, she clarified that her break from the sport was purposeful, focusing on becoming a mother. With the recent birth of her daughter, she feels prepared to conclude her basketball journey and move into this new chapter of life.
I never actually meant to do an Irish goodbye. When I sat out after 2022, it was for a very specific reason. It was so I could start the next phase of my life: becoming a mom.
I was hoping to get pregnant fast and perhaps play one more season after having a baby, but things didn't happen as fast as we would have liked. They did happen, though!!
With the arrival of our first child, Jana Christine, on April 8, I feel ready to finally and officially say goodbye to my basketball career.
Quigley enjoyed a 14-year WNBA career, playing for her hometown team of the Sky from 2013-2022, where she became a three-time All-Star and four-time 3-point shootout champion.
