Tomb Raider creator added a new character to help Lara escape the shadows of men
Briefly

I wanted to dig even deeper into the psychological strife of the loss, to understand how the guilt would shape Lara as she evolved into the version of the character from the 1990s games.
Conrad's death lingered as Lara hardened into a brutal relic-protector, and I felt it was essential to explore that transformation through the new character of Camilla Roth.
Lara reenters Camilla's life not just to seek information, but to unlock their shared past, filled with baggage and emotional weight stemming from Conrad's legacy.
I had to build Lara an escape route from the burden of Roth's death and reframing his legacy dramatically impacted her character development throughout the series.
