Afterlove EP is a rhythm-narrative adventure game created in memory of Mohammad Fahmi, who passed away before its completion. The game follows Rama, an indie band frontman grappling with the loss of his partner, Cinta. Isolated and struggling to reconnect with his band and the world, Rama learns that grief, while deserving sympathy, is not an excuse for neglecting the feelings of others. As he navigates his emotions, the game offers a cathartic experience, highlighting the imperfect nature of dealing with loss and the importance of grace during such journeys.
Rama expected everything to be where he left it a year ago. Afterlove EP spends much of its time underlining that while grief deserves sympathy, it doesn't become a free pass to treat people however you want.
Cinta is defensive and accusatory, and puts Rama's feelings above everyone else's. As I lived out Rama's life, I gradually became frustrated.
