Love Me's directors turned Kristen Stewart into BB-8 for their sci-fi epic
Briefly

Directors Sam and Andrew Zuchero aimed to create an ambitious film, Love Me, which blends numerous styles such as stop-motion, motion-capture, and live-action, while weaving a story of post-apocalyptic love involving robots. With Kristen Stewart and Steven Yeun as leads, they sought to mirror the creative styles of legends like Pixar and George Lucas. The protagonist, a solar-powered weather buoy named Me, showcases a journey toward self-awareness amidst a devastated Earth, hinting at deeper themes of connection and identity.
We wanted to make robots and go shoot 'em in amazing locations around planet Earth and live the dream of being George Lucas in the early '70s.
That desire to be Pixar and George Lucas at the same time helps explain the design of their protagonist Me, a solar-powered weather buoy voiced by Kristen Stewart.
