Lack Of Switch 2 Dev Kits Could Explain Limited Third-Party Game Announcements - Report
Briefly

There are currently few third-party games confirmed for the Nintendo Switch 2, with many developers not yet having access to development kits. YouTuber Nate the Hate pointed out that this issue has been a significant concern since the console’s launch. Development partners, including indie developers and some mid-tier studios, are still waiting for hardware. Modern Vintage Gamer noted that only about one-third of the developers who worked on the original Switch have access to the new system, leaving the majority unable to proceed with their game development plans.
Nate the Hate mentioned, 'This has been a talking point amongst Nintendo fans really since the Switch 2 has come out, and it's definitely spurred up once again in the most recent days.' He further emphasized the ongoing concern regarding third-party game announcements from studios.
Nate explained, 'And it's not just indie developers. It's also those double-A and low triple-A developers who currently lack access to dev kits.' This lack of access creates uncertainty for developers regarding their game releases.
Modern Vintage Gamer stated, 'I think one-third of developers, publishers, that have worked on Switch 1 titles have access to Switch 2 hardware, but the remaining are still waiting for their hardware to come in.' This suggests a significant number of developers are impacted.
Concern has been voiced over the absence of announcements, with Nate stating, 'Where are the game announcements from third parties and indie partners? And when are they going to be happening?' This reflects a growing frustration among fans.
