Players have been surprised to find that a PS5 update changed their boot screen to the PlayStation 1 version, along with new themes for the 30th Anniversary.
While the new themes are temporarily to mark the anniversary, it raises hopes that Sony may consider offering a complete package of themes in the future.
The PlayStation 30th Anniversary Sale features significant discounts on popular titles like Gran Turismo 7 and The Last of Us Part II, running until December 20.
Sony released a celebratory video thanking players for their loyalty over 30 years, along with a flashback to the original PlayStation's history.
