Final Fantasy Creator Has One More RPG In Him, Calls It A 'Successor' To Final Fantasy VI
Briefly

Hironobu Sakaguchi, the creative force behind Final Fantasy, is set to create a successor to the beloved Final Fantasy VI. After leaving Square Enix in 2004 and founding Mistwalker, he has continued to develop RPGs, including the recent Fantasian. Despite initially planning for Fantasian to be his last game, his enjoyment led him to start a new project closely inspired by Final Fantasy VI. Sakaguchi envisions blending nostalgia with innovation, aiming to evoke the same feelings as the original game while introducing new elements to captivate modern players.
"It's generally going to follow a similar style to my previous works, and it'll be something that can be a successor to Final Fantasy VI in a good way—our goal is to create something old but new at the same time."
"Humans are greedy creatures, aren't we? For that reason, I'm currently working on a new project with the same team that developed Fantasian."
