Where Things Stand With Renovation of Popular UWS Playground
Briefly

The playground renovation project aims to provide enhanced accessibility, seating, and play features to foster a more inclusive and enjoyable environment for children and caregivers.
Architect Cecilia Cho emphasized that the redesign will also focus on circulation and sight lines, along with increasing the variety of the spray shower component.
The planned upgrades, funded by Councilmember Gale Brewer, reflect significant community input, addressing needs identified by local families and students from P.S. 84.
With the last renovation occurring in 1997 and opening in 1962, the playground is due for a comprehensive update that includes modern play equipment and sustainable practices.
