Airtel has launched India's first AI-powered spam detection system, providing real-time protection against spam calls and messages for its 387 million wireless subscribers at no extra cost.
Gopal Vittal emphasized that spam has become a significant issue for customers, stating that our proprietary algorithm processes 1.5 billion messages and 2.5 billion calls daily to help curb the problem.
The dual-layer protection mechanism developed by Airtel targets both network and IT systems layers, systematically filtering out spam and identifying up to 100 million spam calls per day.
Despite the government's 'Do Not Disturb' registry, a staggering 90% of users still face spam, underscoring the need for a robust solution like Airtel's new AI system.
