sculptural daybed emerges from gun-tufted wool rug by BUDDE and nando studio
Briefly

BUDDE and Nando Studio's latest creation, DUNE, transforms the traditional rug into a multifunctional piece that serves as both a sculptural object and a daybed. Displayed at Galleria Rossana Orlandi, DUNE is inspired by nomadic desert cultures and ergonomic European comfort. Its design features a rippling pattern reminiscent of sand dunes and is made from gun-tufted merino wool supported by a detachable aluminum frame. The rug not only enhances floor aesthetics but also invites communal interaction, adapting seamlessly to various spatial configurations.
DUNE presents a new typology in interior design as a hybrid between a chaise lounge and a textile landscape, reimagining the humble rug as a multifunctional design object.
The rug’s rippling pattern mirrors wind-sculpted sand dunes, rendered in a warm, gradient palette that evokes the ephemeral hues of desert sunlight.
