The Quartet-Songzhuang Z Museum, designed by TEAM_BLDG, repurposes a 1990s structure into a contemporary art space that reflects the essence of Songzhuang, a rural village in Zhejiang. The museum features four staggered volumes, inspired by traditional Chinese textile weaving, with a facade made of red-and-white aluminum lattices that change appearance throughout the day. Internally, a central 'light well' promotes natural light flow and visual connections between spaces, while carefully designed window openings frame village views. Additionally, custom furniture adds an artistic touch that resonates with the local heritage, enhancing visitor experience.
