"But now, Bing might be testing a more retro, older-looking interface for the local pack in the Bing search results. This was spotted by Frank Sandtmann who posted this screenshot on LinkedIn: Frank wrote, "Bing appears to be testing a new (?!) design for its Places results. With the small map, it looks a bit retro." I cannot replicate this, I've been trying with several browsers over the past few days but I was unsuccessful."
"Frank wrote, "Bing appears to be testing a new (?!) design for its Places results. With the small map, it looks a bit retro." I cannot replicate this, I've been trying with several browsers over the past few days but I was unsuccessful. So I am not sure if this is a bug, a super limited test or something only being tested regionally."
Bing appears to be testing a retro-style local pack layout that uses a much smaller embedded map and older visual cues. A screenshot surfaced showing the compact map and different Places-card styling. Attempts to reproduce the design across several browsers were unsuccessful, indicating the change may be a bug, an extremely limited test, or a regional experiment. Earlier in September, other local pack design tests were observed, showing more modern variations that contrast with the retro layout. The presence of multiple design experiments suggests active iteration on local search presentation and occasional narrow or transient variants.
