"The EEOC's priorities have shifted dramatically during the second Trump administration. The EEOC, born out of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, was created to protect Americans from workplace discrimination and harassment. Given its origins, the agency had a historic focus on protecting minority employees from racial discrimination, but in more recent years its mission included investigations into instances of discrimination over gender, disability, age and national origin."
The Trump administration is encouraging white men who believe they suffered workplace discrimination to file complaints with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. EEOC Chair Andrea Lucas posted a video and directed eligible white men to the agency website and a DEI-related discrimination explainer. The EEOC has shifted priorities during the second Trump administration toward addressing alleged race and sex discrimination affecting white men. At the same time, the agency dropped six cases representing transgender employees who alleged workplace discrimination. The administration is using the EEOC to challenge diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives and warn employers about unlawful DEI practices.
