During a concert in Boston, Dropkick Murphys frontman Ken Casey condemned President Trump and Elon Musk, particularly targeting a fan wearing a MAGA hat. He labeled the black version of the hat, associated with Musk, as the "Elon Musk true Nazi edition" and accused Trump supporters of being part of a cult. The band's X account is suspended, a situation Casey attributes to their decision to distance from Musk's platform after quitting in 2022. Other musicians have joined them in boycotting X, protesting Musk’s controversial actions.
According to footage, shared by the band online, Casey called the black version of the "MAGA" hat, worn and popularized by Musk, the "Elon Musk true Nazi edition," while also suggesting that the president's supporters are in a "cult."
We broke up with [Elon Musk] first," Ken Casey said. "We quit Twitter in 2022 when he was only half a Nazi."
Dropkick Murphys are among a swath of musicians to exit X due to the ownership of Elon Musk...Others who have boycotted X include Jack White, Neil Young, and Nine Inch Nails mastermind Trent Reznor.
Look, we pulled our account because we didn't want to be part of that guy's empire. But if we were still on there, I'm sure he would have suspended us by now.
