As Hurricane Milton approached Florida, concerns mounted in Sarasota, where residents worried about the impact of a potential direct hit from the Category 4 storm.
'This time, she and others feared that Sarasota would not be so lucky,' reflected Marilyn Borysek, recalling how they narrowly escaped Hurricane Ian's trajectory two years ago.
'I'm just taking pictures, because this probably won't look the same in 24 hours,' said Borysek, capturing the uncertain atmosphere as the storm approached.
'While previous hurricanes have caused power losses and damage, none has directly struck Sarasota since 1946,' highlighting the city's unusual luck with hurricane paths.
