Paula Badosa has officially pulled out of the U.S. Open due to a lingering back injury, which has kept her off the court since her first-round loss at Wimbledon on June 30. The U.S. Tennis Association announced that Jil Teichmann would take her place in the tournament. Alizé Cornet, who previously retired but returned this year, is next in line for a spot if there are further withdrawals. Badosa, currently ranked No. 12, reached her best career ranking of No. 2 in 2022 and made the semifinals at the Australian Open in January.
