At least 80 people have reported illness after consuming oysters at the Los Angeles Times's 101 Best Restaurants event, marking a concerning norovirus outbreak.
The Los Angeles County Department of Public Health has launched an investigation into the norovirus outbreak linked to oysters served at the event on Dec. 3.
Many attendees experienced gastrointestinal symptoms, such as diarrhea and nausea, and reports indicate that some individuals were even hospitalized due to the outbreak.
Mark Kapczynski expressed concern after spending nearly $700 on V.I.P. tickets for the event and subsequently falling ill, alongside many other attendees.
