How to be not lonely? 'Cohousing' is an answer for some people
Briefly

Rachel Damgen recalls, 'I wound up on the floor crying too, just holding both my kids, feeling like, Man, this is impossible.' This moment prompted a re-evaluation of their lives.
The Damgens moved to Daybreak Cohousing for support and community, stating, 'We would not have had a third child if we hadn't been here...we had the ability to holler for a neighbor's help.'
Cohousing provides a unique solution to isolation and loneliness. Residents appreciate shared resources and spaces, despite navigating a shared chore list and mutual financial arrangements.
With close to 200 cohousing communities in the U.S., they aim to combat the loneliness felt by many, especially parents who navigate isolation post-pandemic.
