Home Depot won't raise prices because of tariffs. But some items may disappear
Briefly

Home Depot's executives announced during an investor call that they do not plan to raise prices broadly due to new tariffs, although some product options may vanish if import costs rise. Merchandising chief Billy Bastek noted that individual prices might increase, but the company benefits from sourcing over half of its products domestically. Unlike Walmart, Home Depot expects steady prices to attract customers from competitors and plans to reduce sourcing from any one foreign country to no more than 10% by mid-2026, aiming for greater supplier diversification.
We don't see broad-based price increases for our customers at all going forward," said Billy Bastek, Home Depot's merchandising chief. "There'll be some things that don't make sense that just end up going away."
Home Depot has pushed suppliers to diversify where they source items from. By mid-2026, the company expects to purchase no more than 10% of its products from any single foreign country.
