A former Royal Caribbean employee, Arvin Joseph Mirasol, was sentenced to 30 years for placing hidden cameras in bathrooms, recording children undressing, and producing child pornography.
Prosecutors reported that Mirasol's electronic devices contained numerous videos of minors in varying stages of undress, including that of children as young as 2.
The investigation began when a guest found a hidden camera in the bathroom of the Symphony of the Seas cruise ship, leading Royal Caribbean to alert authorities.
Mirasol, a 34-year-old stateroom attendant from the Philippines, confessed to placing cameras in the bathrooms since starting work on the cruise line.
