Eleazar Gato Lopez, a 51-year-old resident of Fontana, stabbed his wife to death out of anger over her infidelity before attempting to take his own life. He called 911, confessed to the stabbing, and lay down beside his wife as emergency services arrived. Police found him critically injured alongside the deceased 41-year-old woman, whose identity has not been released. Lopez has been charged with murder, and as of July 14, no court date has been scheduled for him due to his condition in the hospital.
