Bird lovers flock to adopt parrot who is 'rated R, parental advisory required'
Briefly

Hendrix, a blue-and-gold macaw, was surrendered to Forever Paws Animal Shelter. His loud, cursing behavior prompted employee Chantelle Rogers to describe him on Facebook as akin to Samuel L. Jackson. This honest and humorous post gained traction, leading to around 60 adoption applications within a day. Hendrix was quickly adopted by a new owner who appreciated his personality. Despite Rogers and her team missing Hendrix's presence at the shelter, they were content knowing he found a suitable home.
Chantelle Rogers wrote on Facebook, 'If you adopt Hendrix, you're basically adopting Samuel L. Jackson,' referring to the actor known for profanity-laced dialogue in movies.
Thousands of people shared Rogers' post, which got traction for its candor and humor, resulting in about 60 adoption applications in just one day.
The shelter was able to match Hendrix with a new owner soon after, leading to his adoption on June 21, after the new owner heard him curse.
Rogers stated, 'It's so quiet without him. We do definitely miss him, but we know he's where he's supposed to be.'
