The Conservative party has said it will not restore the whip to MP Julian Knight after he was cleared by police of a serious sexual assault allegation.The MP for Solihull had always strongly rejected any wrongdoing after the complaint was made about him to the Metropolitan police, saying he had been targeted by unfounded rumours and potentially blackmail.
