Himanshu Makwana, a 42-year-old man from Wembley, was sentenced to nine years in prison after being convicted of two counts of rape against teenage girls. His first victim, an 18-year-old, was assaulted in 2019 after he lured her under false pretenses. Years later, in 2023, he preyed on a 16-year-old girl by posing as a peer, eventually kidnapping and raping her. His DNA linked him back to the earlier crime, leading to his arrest. The case highlights the dangers of social media and the bravery of the victims who reported the crimes.
Makwana posed as a young man on social media in order to prey on young girls. He carried out a horrific attack on one woman, and then did the same thing again a few years later.
The first incident occurred in 2019, when the 42-year-old began to talk to an 18-year-old girl. After speaking for a few months, they decided to meet and he drove her to an empty office block to rape her.
