Teenage killer gets life for stabbing man 12 times over stolen bicycle
"A teenage thug who stabbed a man to death in a row over a stolen bike has been jailed for life after being convicted of murder. Jackson Uwagboe, 19, and two other knife-wielding attackers killed 21-year-old Robert Robinson in brutal and sustained attack on Carteret Way, Deptford. London Ambulance Service found Mr Robinson stabbed 12 times, including defensive injuries as he attempted to protect himself from raining blows."
"All three killers fled the scene, leaving paramedics to try to save Mr Robinson's life. Despite their best efforts, Mr Robinson was tragically declared dead at the scene. On June 7, Uwagboe, of Hamilton Street, Lewisham fled the country for Nigeria. During this time, the Metropolitan Police launched a lengthy investigation in which they sifted through hundreds of hours of CCTV, phone records, bank account details and DNA to identify the killer."
Jackson Uwagboe, 19, and two other attackers fatally stabbed 21-year-old Robert Robinson in a sustained machete attack on Carteret Way, Deptford. The attack followed an earlier robbery in which Uwagboe stole a 17-year-old boy's bicycle and phone, and an incident where a group damaged cars while searching for the thief. Uwagboe fled to Nigeria the day after the killing. The Metropolitan Police used CCTV, phone records, bank data and DNA to identify him and arrested him on return. A judge ruled he must serve 21 years before eligibility for release.
