Son loses case against parents over move to Africa
Briefly

A 14-year-old boy in the UK lost a court case against his parents after they relocated him to Ghana for boarding school. He believed he was misled into the move, which he referred to as a living 'hell', expressing a strong desire to return to the UK. His parents, citing safety concerns over potential criminal influences in London, justified their actions in court. Despite the boy's claims of mistreatment and struggles at the school in Ghana, the judge ruled that returning home posed greater risks for him.
"I feel like I am living in hell. I really do not think I deserve this and I want to come home, back to England, as soon as possible."
"This is, in many ways, both a sobering and rather depressing conclusion," said Mr Justice Hayden, acknowledging the boy’s difficult situation in Ghana.
His mother said sending him to Africa was "not a punishment but a measure to protect him" due to concerns about his safety in London.
The boy described being "mocked" and "never settled in" at the school in Ghana, expressing a desire to return to his life in England.
