A growing number of Tory hardliners have threatened to vote against the government and send Mr Sunak's premiership into crisis if Mr Sunak refuses to toughen up the legislation.
Even if half of the 65 signatories voted against the bill it would be enough to defeat the government the government should be aware it's possible if they don't accept amendments.
