"A 25-year-old moped rider has died following a crash with a car in Lewisham. Police were called to Southend Lane at around 6.40pm on Saturday, September 20, after reports of a collision between a car and a moped. Officers and the London Ambulance Service attended, but despite efforts to save him, the moped rider was pronounced dead at the scene."
"His next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers. The driver of the car, a 52-year-old man, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving while under the influence of drink or drugs. He remains in police custody.
