Man dies following serious assault at flat in Dungannon, Co Tyrone

Detective Chief Inspector Phillips stated, 'Shortly after 8pm, it was reported that a man was found with serious injuries at a flat in the area. Police attended, but sadly the man passed away as a result of his injuries.'
SDLP Mid Ulster councillor Malachy Quinn expressed grave concern on social media stating, 'Sad news coming out of Dungannon tonight. I would urge people to avoid the area tonight.'
Sinn Fein councillor Deirdre Varsani noted on social media, 'There is an ongoing serious incident at the flats at the entrance to Lisnahull...no access or exit is currently possible via the Newell Road entrance to Lisnahull.'
Local residents expressed their shock, saying, 'We realized something was wrong when we heard the sirens - there was a lot of emergency services on the scene very quickly.'
