A man in his 70s was involved in a fatal single-vehicle accident while driving a van on the R245 at Carrigart, Co Donegal, around 1pm. Following the incident, his body was taken to the mortuary at Letterkenny University Hospital, where a post-mortem examination is scheduled. Fortunately, no other injuries were reported. The R245 road has been closed for a technical examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators, and local diversions are in place. Gardaí are appealing for anyone with potential evidence of the incident to come forward.
