A 33-year-old man pleaded guilty to two criminal damage charges involving hotel bedrooms. Blood was found on a wall and on a duvet in a room at the Carnbeg Hotel on December 10, 2019, and the toilet seat had been broken. Similar circumstances were reported at the Crowne Plaza Hotel on February 16, 2020, including a large hole in a wall. Damage amounts were €934 at the Carnbeg and €1,043 at the Crowne Plaza. The court heard of four previous convictions, including public order and possession of drugs under Section 3. The defendant made full admissions, had stopped using illicit drugs, and expressed willingness to pay despite no compensation. A three-month sentence was suspended for 24 months, with the other charge taken into consideration.
