OAKLAND A city resident has been arrested and charged with using a pistol to beat a woman and rob her of $400 after paying her for sex, according to court records. Alexander Stovall, 43, was charged with robbery and assault with a firearm on Jan. 26. Authorities allege that nine days before the case was filed, Stovall met a woman on the 700 block of International Boulevard, an area known for prostitution, and paid her $200.

It occurred at City Hall Plaza in downtown Oakland, around 4:30 p.m. Johnson and Williams squared off to fight over an ongoing dispute, but Williams allegedly grabbed a metal chair and swung at Johnson, hitting him in the back of the head. Johnson allegedly responded by pulling a pistol and shooting Williams in the abdomen. That's when police say McClain pulled out a pistol and shot Johnson in the foot.
