Erith man with fake gun in six hour armed police stand-off at Plumstead Cemetery
Briefly

Jack Pullen, 31, was sentenced to four months in prison following a six-hour standoff with armed police, during which he threatened to harm himself with an imitation firearm. He initially called 999 claiming to be armed at Plumstead Cemetery and demanded his ex-partner's presence, drinking vodka and using nitrous oxide during the tense encounter. The authorities eventually subdued him with a rubber baton round, and Pullen acknowledged his suicidal intentions. Having a previous similar incident, he faced charges this time and expressed remorse. He has since worked on his substance abuse issues while in custody.
"The police had no idea whether the gun you were holding was real or imitation until they recovered it... it is fortunate the officers took the action they did, in firing a non-lethal round to incapacitate you."
"Pullen expressed his remorse for his behaviour and has been remanded in prison since the incident where he has tackled those substance abuse issues."
