Yosemite National Park's top official is retiring

Cicely Muldoon, the superintendent of Yosemite National Park, announced her retirement effective at the end of February after a remarkable 40-year career in the National Park Service. Her tenure included significant roles at various national parks, indicating her deep commitment to federal service. "After 40 (!) years of service in the national parks, I will retire at the end of February," Muldoon wrote in the email.
"I have found an organization with a compelling and inspirational mission that has sustained me through the highs and lows of federal service," she added.
"She's a really strong leader," Dean told SFGATE in a phone interview. "I was really impressed with her courage to take on [Yosemite's] traffic congestion."
