The first AI-designed buildings are coming
Briefly

A rowhouse construction project in Atlanta's West End is poised to change the landscape of architectural design by utilizing artificial intelligence (AI) throughout its design process. Though the 17-unit building features attractive geometrical facades and large windows, its significance lies in the extensive use of AI for tasks such as market analysis, design, and compliance. Completed by Cove Architecture, this project aims to be among the first AI-designed constructions to actually reach completion, marking a milestone in modern architecture with notable reductions in design timelines and costs.
Cofounders Sandeep Ahuja and Patrick Chopson say AI was used to greatly accelerate the Atlanta project, achieving a 60% reduction in design timelines and a 40% cut in design iteration expenses.
The building, which is going up for zoning approvals this week, could be one of the first projects designed largely through AI to actually get constructed.
Cove uses AI to optimize project planning, design, engineering, and bidding for architecture and developer clients around the world.
Instead of it taking six months, we're doing it in a month. Speed is the superpower.
