TD Bank celebrated the grand opening of its new branch in Norwood with a community-focused event, featuring games, food, and entertainment. Vice President Jose Sarmiento highlighted the branch's commitment to financial education as he collaborates with local nonprofits. Employees created a festive atmosphere, greeting customers warmly to foster a sense of community. The event included fun activities for families and promotional offers, including bonus cash for new accounts and a competitive annual percentage yield on CDs. Sarmiento expressed that their goal is to prioritize people over traditional banking practices.
Employees lined the entrance of the brightly branded branch, clapping and cheering as each new customer walked through the doors-greeting them with the enthusiasm usually reserved for celebrities.
When I grew up, there was a lack of financial education. I personally didn't have any. So what I've been doing to prepare for this grand opening is collaborating with local nonprofits and have done financial literacy courses.
We're people first. A lot of my entire team is from the Bronx, so we are community based. We all know the customers that we're helping because we've been in their shoes.
As part of its opening promotions, TD Bank is offering Bronx residents the opportunity to earn bonus cash when they open a new account before June 18.
