Cathie Wood of Ark Invest asserts that Tesla continues to lead in the electric vehicle market despite rising challenges from BYD, especially regarding vehicle performance metrics such as range and power at competitive prices. Although BYD's revenue surpassed Tesla's in 2024 and they have introduced revolutionary fast-charging technology, Wood believes Tesla will thrive due to its advancements in autonomous driving. She expects Tesla's robotaxis will represent a significant portion of its future value, contributing to a tenfold increase, alongside the emerging potential of humanoid robots in the company’s ecosystem.
So we're looking at the BYD cars, and they are fabulous, from what we can see - fit, finish, design.
If you look at metrics like range and power for a given price, Tesla is still very competitive, if not the most competitive, depending on the model of car.
So we think Tesla and BYD are both in the lead from an EV point of view alone.
And that's not even including humanoid robots, which are now moving into the Tesla ecosystem much faster than even we expected.
