A serious multi-vehicle accident occurred on Friday northeast of London, resulting in the deaths of four teenagers, including two 17-year-olds and a 16-year-old girl, along with a 33-year-old man. The crash involved an SUV colliding with a transport truck, which then hit another SUV. The truck driver and occupants of the second SUV escaped with minor injuries. Witnesses are urged to share dash cam footage as police investigate. Premier Doug Ford expressed his devastation over the incident, extending condolences to the grieving families.
Emergency crews responded around 4:30 p.m. to the crash northeast of London at Thorndale and Cobble Hills roads, Ontario Provincial Police said.
A 16-year-old girl and a 33-year-old man were taken to hospital where they were later pronounced dead.
Police are asking any witnesses in the area at the time of the crash to check their dash cam footage.
In a post on X Saturday, Ontario Premier Doug Ford said he was "devastated" about the crash.
