The union representing faculty at Ontario's 24 public colleges and the College Employer Council have opted for binding arbitration, thus averting a potential strike that could have disrupted classes.
After months of negotiations, the sides have reached an agreement for arbitration to resolve key issues such as job security, work conditions, and quality of education.
Both sides recognized the need for progress, with the union stating that while "significant benefit gains" were achieved, critical issues remain unresolved and will be addressed by an arbitrator.
