A shortage of family doctors in the province is only going to get worse if burnout and growing administrative burdens are not addressed, the Ontario Medical Association is warning.As of March 2022, there were 2.2 million Ontarians who didn't have a regular family doctor, an increase of 450,000 people in just two years, the association says, and an OMA survey of its members suggests that 40 per cent of physicians are considering retiring in the next five years.
