A man is dead and another has been critically injured following a serious collision involving a tractor trailer and a garbage truck in Mississauga, indicating the severe consequences of road accidents.
The accident took place around 2:25 p.m. on Thursday near Goreway Drive and Derry Road W. Both victims were immediately transported to a trauma centre.
The crash resulted in a total closure of all eastbound and westbound lanes on Derry Road between Goreway Drive and west of Hwy 427, causing significant traffic disruptions.
According to Peel police, despite efforts at the scene, one man was pronounced dead shortly after being taken to the hospital, highlighting the tragic outcome of the incident.
