"York Regional Police say an elderly woman is dead following a residential structure fire in Newmarket Friday morning. In a post to social media, York police said officers responded to Kirby Crescent shortly after 6:30 a.m. The woman was removed from the residence and taken to hospital in life-threatening condition, where she later died, York police said in an update post to social media."
"Two adult men were also taken to hospital with minor injuries, police added. YRP said the Office of the Fire Marshal will be attending the scene and investigating alongside the Central York Fire Services. Officers will remain on scene until the investigation is complete, but there is no suspicion of criminality, York police said in its update. Kirby Crescent is closed at Alex Doner Drive, York police told CBC Toronto."
