Previously Netflix counted profiles watching ad-supported content. The streamer said the previous measurement undercounted people physically present while watching. Executives said growth in ad viewers aligns with expectations and pledged to improve customer and advertiser experiences. The lowest-cost ad-free plan costs $17.99 a month.
