Streaming TV features ads almost everywhere, and it's going to get worse
Briefly

When I began writing about ditching cable TV for streaming in 2013, I advised buying season passes for the cable and broadcast series you loved because it cost a lot less than paying for a package of channels you'd never watch, and you could see those beloved shows sans ads.
Today, Netflix offers several tiers of service that include ads, a practice that begin in late 2022. And since then, nearly all of its many competitors followed suit. Of the top streaming services that produce their own content, only Apple TV+ doesn't offer an ad-supported tier, though it does show ads during live sporting events.
