Netflix has announced a price increase for its subscription tiers for the second time in as many years. The monthly fees are rising from $7 to $8 for the ad-supported plan, and from $15.50 to $18 for the standard no-ads plan. The premium plan will increase from $23 to $25. The move follows a report of 300 million global subscribers. Netflix stated this price hike is aimed at reinvesting in programming and enhancing service, amidst the backdrop of new content like Squid Game Season 2.
As we continue to invest in programming and deliver more value for our members, we will occasionally ask our members to pay a little more so that we can re-invest to further improve Netflix.
Tuesday's announcement marks the first time Netflix has increased the price of the ad-supported tier since it was introduced in November 2022.
